The Breakfast Club

My favorite John Hughes movie is The Breakfast Club. I can't think of high school and not think of this movie. I remember the day I saw it for the first time...I identified with both The Beauty and The Recluse, and I dated The Jock, The Brain had a major crush on me, but I always wanted to be with The Rebel.

Take a peek here for a wonderful tribute to John Hughes....Very cool, she was a teenager, and she was his pen pal.

  1. OMG...I can't believe you mentioned this movie because it's one of my FAVORITES, too!!

When it first came out, I went and saw it like FIVE TIMES! Each of the character's so brilliantly depicted the different types of kids you knew in school. I think I mostly identified with the Recluse. Wasn't Ally Sheedy great??

    The movie is timeless.

Thanks for posting this, FG. I need go out and rent this one again!

P.S. thanks for the blog recommendation. You're so sweet!

  2. Wow, that's awesome that they became pen pals. He died much too young but what a legacy.

  4. Losing John Hughes was extremely sad to me. I have a lot of his movies (they were some of my favorites) and my kids love them all. Well, especially the girls.

  5. Ron, Chrissy, Chris, and Beth, I am hoping for a John Hughes marathon on cable. I could watch his movies over and over again. I would start with The Breakfast Club, then move to Sixteen Candles, then to Pretty In Pink...I would be in 80's heaven.
