Sleepless Nights And A Corpse

From Alice In Wonderland the White Rabbit: "Oh my ears and whiskers, how late it is getting!"
Me, not from Alice In Wonderland, but my response if I were: "Sleep would be a good thing right about now".

For several months now, I have had a terrible time sleeping through the night. I feel lucky to get a total of four hours of sleep each night, and mind you this is not continuous sleep it is sleep interrupted. The other night, I was off in dreamland during one of my four hours of what now amounts to snooze-time but the dream I was in the middle of was so weird and disturbing that it woke me and like the dream, sleep evaporated into thin air.

In the dream I am walking with my car/house keys in hand and for some reason, my house keys keep falling off of the key chain so I am always looking for them in the way Alice is looking for the White Rabbit. And like Alice did in Alice In Wonderland, in my dream, I came across a lot of weird people who pointed me in the wrong direction and gave me bad news/advise. As I continued to walk along and lose/find my house keys I came across a woman who must have been a fortune teller by the way she looked. She asked me what I was looking for and as she did this she walked towards me and placed the palm of her hand on my chest. I told her that I was looking for my house keys, and she told me that I was fighting for my soul and it was not the keys that were lost but it was me who was lost, and I had to find my way home or lose my soul to more sleepless nights. The fortune teller continued and told me that there are six corpses living in my soul and they were debating on if they should kill my soul or let me be, and the count was 4-2...not in my favor...4 corpses wanted to kill my soul and 2 wanted to leave me be. The fortune teller told me to find my house keys and to follow the path home before it was too late. As I followed a path made of broken glass, wildflowers, and Taco Bell Bean Burittos that had appeared from nowhere, I happened upon one of the corpses and asked It if It would leave me be or if It wanted to kill my soul....It laughed a wicked laugh and a faint scent of burrito breath floated in the air, and It said "You will never find your house keys" Then I woke up, and WTF does all of this mean? Still not sleeping through the night.

On a side note...Tim Burton is behind a new Alice In Wonderland where the fairy tale becomes a nightmare; due out in March 2010, and Johnny Depp as the Mad Hatter, this I gotta see!

  5. See, the whole IDEA behind Alice in Wonderland creeps me out from the Cheshire Cat to Tweedle Dee and Tweedle Dum. It's Walt Disney Meets LSD-Era Beatles.

Always good to find a new blog, particularly from New Jersey folk. I'm originally from Exit 9.

    Take care,

  6. Ew, sleep issues are no fun at all. I hope you're able to get some continuous shut eye soon! I sleep eat. Seriously, I do. Maybe I'll write an entry about it :)
